We are thrilled to announce a major expansion of our investment offerings: Crypto Trading is officially available on the App! Now, you can seamlessly buy, sell, track, and manage your Crypto holdings right alongside your Direct Invest and Auto Invest portfolios—all within one powerful app.
This new function is designed to simplify your journey into the world of Crypto, making it more accessible and integrated than ever before.
What’s New: Crypto Integrated Into Your Invest Page
Your main Invest page now features a dedicated Crypto tab, sitting next to your Direct Invest and Auto Invest accounts.
Getting Started: Your Account Setup Checklist
To ensure a safe and compliant trading environment, a few quick steps are required to unlock your Crypto trading feature.
You can simply start the process in the Crypto tab:
Or complete these steps in your account setup page to unlock crypto trading and protect your portfolio:
- Risk Profile Questionnaire (RPQ): Confirms if Crypto fits your investment objective. Note that Conservative and Moderately Conservative profiles are not eligible.
- Derivative Assessment: Verifies your experience of derivative products.
- Virtual Asset Assessment and Risk Disclosure: A quick check to ensure you understand Crypto market risks.
- Virtual Asset Agreement: Accept the terms to activate your trading account.
Please note that Crypto products are available only to members in eligible jurisdictions who have successfully completed the required assessments and maintain an appropriate risk profile.
After a brief review of your details, your Crypto account will be ready to use.
Funding Your Crypto Account: The Easy Way
Unlike Direct Invest accounts, fund deposits are not supported for your Crypto account. Funds must be transferred from your existing Direct Invest account.
On your Crypto portfolio page, you will find key action buttons: Transfer / Convert / Cash History.
Understanding Conversion Types
We offer two convenient ways to convert your funds into the right currencies for trading:
Trading with Confidence: Order Types and Data
We currently support Limit order and Market Order to give you control over your trades:
- Limit Order: A limit order is an order to buy or sell a stock at a specific price or better. A buy limit order can only be executed at the limit price or lower, and a sell limit order can only be executed at the limit price or higher. A limit order is not guaranteed to execute.
- Market Order: Currently limited to sell orders only for Crypto. A market order is a buy or sell order to be executed immediately at current market prices. As long as there are willing sellers and buyers, market orders are filled.
Real-Time : All Crypto prices displayed on the app (on the Watchlist, Collection, and Order Page) are real-time.
Important Trading Restrictions
Please be aware of certain restrictions designed for your security and compliance:
- Trading Scheduled Maintenance: The Crypto Exchange schedules a maintenance period every day from 7:00 am to 7:30 am HKT, during which new orders, amendments, and cancellations are temporarily halted.
- Transfer Scheduled Maintenance: A scheduled maintenance period occurs daily from 7:30am – 9:00am HKT Standard Time or 7:30am – 8:00am HKT Daylight Saving Time. During which fund transfers from Crypto account to Direct Invest account are temporarily halted.
- IP/VPN Restriction: Crypto trading is disabled if a VPN or restricted IP address is detected.
- Risk Level Restriction: If your updated Risk Profile is “Conservative” or “Moderately Conservative,” buying and selling Crypto will be restricted.
- Exposure Limit: To support risk management and promote diversification, your Crypto account is subject to an Exposure Limit. Your declared net assets are used to calculate this limit.
